Marlowe Skirt Suit in Black, size 44IT. The brand converts this to a US size 10, but like, designer sizing, so more like a contemporary 6/8 (but you can check measurements to be sure). This understated brand, founded in Toronto in 1996, makes feminine tailored things, to a luxury standard - all made in Italy and very beautifully done. The aesthetic is classic - very timeless. The blazer features a 3/4 sleeve, a one button closure, and beaded trim along the lapel and the front centre line. The two flap pockets on the front are still sewn shut. There is one tiny open pocket on the interior of the jacket - large enough to hold business cards or a credit card. The skirt features beading trim down the front centre line, pockets on the side seam, and a zip centre back closure.
The skirt measures 24.5 inches in length. The waistband measures 16.5 inches flat, and I would believe that it is meant to sit slightly below the natural waist. The darts are 4.25 inches in length. The hips measure 21.5 inches flat.
The jacket measures 26 inches in length from shoulder to hem. The sleeves end 5 inches up from the hem of the jacket, or 19.5 inches from the top of the shoulder seam to the cuff. It measures 20 inches armpit to armpit, tapers to 18.5 inches across at the waist, and about 20 inches across at the hip.
Fully lined. 100% wool. In excellent condition.
Jackets like this one currently retail for about $2000, and the skirts about $700, so I'd imagine this suit was at least $2000 originally - hard to say because i can't tell if it's from 10 years ago or last year. Selling both here for $195CAD!
